At Scottsdale Hyperbaric Center, patient safety is an essential part of every Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy session. From individualized consultations and chamber preparation to continuous monitoring throughout your session, our team follows established hyperbaric safety protocols designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and professionally supervised experience.
Your Hyperbaric Consultation
Before beginning Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, each patient completes an individualized consultation to review medical history, current medications, health conditions, goals, and any factors that may affect HBOT. This helps our clinical team determine whether HBOT is appropriate and identify any additional precautions, documentation, or medical clearance that may be needed.
Medications & Medical Devices
Some medications and implanted medical devices require additional review before Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Please provide our clinical team with an up-to-date list of all prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, supplements, implanted devices, and recent medical treatments.
Pacemakers, neurostimulators, insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring systems, implanted medication pumps, and other devices may have manufacturer-specific pressure limitations.
Device compatibility must be evaluated before treatment when applicable.

During Every Session
Continuous Patient Monitoring
Patients are monitored throughout their hyperbaric session by trained hyperbaric personnel. Our clear acrylic Sechrist monoplace chambers allow staff to maintain direct visual observation while the patient remains comfortably positioned inside the chamber.
